I am writing a recommendation for your wonderful school. I hope I have chosen words that translate well.

Ian & Naomi started New Concept in July 2012. English is spoken at home though my husband has been learning Mandarin for the past 2 years. We were optimistic that Naomi would do well & she is. Ian, being only 3 and a very active little boy, plus, his 1st time in preschool, we didn't know what would happen. Well, he has surprised us with a growing Chinese vocabulary. He recognizes Chinese characters as we walk along the streets of Chinatown in San Francisco. He sings Chinese songs at home. He tries to pronounce Chinese words & his very helpful sister, Naomi and father, are there to help.

He loves playing with the other children.

He is enthusiastic about learning a new language. I am quite surprised & very happy.

I really enjoyed the Christmas party & look forward to Chinese New Year party.

Jane, the director, has been very supportive. Her enthusiasm for teaching is reflected in the day to day activities at the school. Naomi participates in Chinese dance and drawing class which she enjoys immensely. Her drawing skills have improved greatly.

我是PATRICK 的妈妈，他在新意幼儿园上学将近半年,我很想把他在这里的情况与大家分享。因为他一直没有离开过我，而且身体抵抗力比较差，所以在他上PRESCHOOL前，我是有些担心的。比如：会不会哭很久，会不会经常生病，因为听说一般上PRESCHOOL前期比较容易得病。总之，顾虑蛮多。但是经过这段时间的表现，完全使我打消顾虑。
主要有以下的表现：
    一：没有分离焦虑情况的出现。他只哭了第一天，而且不到十分钟。这十分钟里，我没有离开学校，听见老师在耐心的哄他，他很快就停止了哭泣。这的确是出乎我的意料。
    二：很少生病。到目前为止，没有因为在学校被感染生病。而且饭量增大，身体变的比原来结实。我想可能和教室空间大，空气流动性好有关，加上平时活动锻炼的机会多。
    三：小朋友互动性好，大家相互间都比较友善。曾经担心的脸上会不会被抓破的情况没有出现。四：养成一些比较好的生活习惯。在家吃饭后能主动把自己的碗勺放进水池。等等。这些看似简单的事情却是我曾经忧虑过的地方，很幸运的是我的担忧没有出现。每天接他回家的时候，他都很兴奋地拿着他当天学习的东西给我看的时候，我知道他又度过了愉快的一天；每天早上送他上学的时候，看着他开心的样子，知道他又要过开心的一天。这是他离开父母的视线接触社会的开始，也是他建立对学校认识的重要一步。学习知识的前提是要有个健康的身心。我很高兴这里是让他感到开心的地方，相信在这样的环境下他愿意展开对知识的探索和对社会的认识。他取得的这些进步是老师的耐心照顾和良好指导的结果，我很感谢这里每一位老师的付出。相信他能在这里继续他开心的学习初旅。
在学习的表现：
一、语言表达能力提高，词汇量大增，且用法准确。在这次的圣诞晚会中的识字环节中的识字数量让我很吃惊。
二、求知欲增强。这也是我除社交外另一个看重的方面。他现在很爱看书，而且喜欢把看到的内容给我讲出来；同时特别喜欢写，握笔能力有显著提高。

「哈佛多元智能」简介: 哈佛大学著名教育家Howard Gardner教授于1983年提出的「多元智能」(Multiple intelligences)理论，他认为人类的智能是多元化而非单一的。其中包括：语言智能（Linguistic intelligence）, 逻辑数学智能（Logical-mathematical intelligence）,空间智能（Spatial intelligence）,音乐智能(Musical intelligence), 内省智能(Intra-personal intelligence) , 肢体动觉智能（Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence）人际智能(Interpersonal intelligence) , 自然观察智能（Naturalist intelligence）等八方面的智能。多元智能理念目前已经广泛应用于欧美国家的幼儿教育上，并且获得极大的成功。多元智能的教学理念是为孩子提供一个充分发挥的空间，全面开发幼儿各方面的潜能。
